ಬೆಳೆ ವಿಮೆ ಒಂದು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಅಥವಾ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಯೋಜನೆ, ಇದು ರೈತರ ಬೆಳೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ನಷ್ಟಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಕ ಅಥವಾ ಮಾನವಸೃಷ್ಟ ವಿಪತ್ತುಗಳಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ಬೆಳೆ ನಷ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಹಾಯ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.

ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಫಸಲ್ ಭೀಮಾ ಯೋಜನೆ (PMFBY) ಅನ್ನು 2016ರ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 18ರಂದು ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿಯವರು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯು ರೈತರ ಬೆಳೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ನಷ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಮೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು.

ಉದ್ದೇಶಗಳು:

ಬೆಳೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಭವನೀಯವಾದ ನಷ್ಟಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು.
ರೈತರ ಆದಾಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು.
ಆಧುನಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ಬಳಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಧೈರ್ಯ ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು.
ಕೃಷಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಹೂಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನೆ ನೀಡುವುದು.

ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು:

ನಿಯತವಾದ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಪ್ರೀಮಿಯಂ:
- ಖರೀಫ್ ಬೆಳೆಗಳು: 2%
- ರಬೀ ಬೆಳೆಗಳು: 1.5%
- ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ತೈಲಭೀಜ ಬೆಳೆಗಳು: 5%
ಉಳಿದ ವಿಮಾ ಮೊತ್ತವನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳು ಸೇರಿ ಭರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
ನಷ್ಟದ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿಮಾ ಮೊತ್ತ ಲಭಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಹವಾಮಾನ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿದ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಅಂದಾಜು ಮತ್ತು ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ.
